Day 40: To Wimberley, Tx

48 miles (77 km) - Total so far: 1,647 miles (2,651 km)
Photo 1: Mellow Johnny's, Lance Armstrong's bike shop in Austin. Got the name because people would pronounce Maillot Jaune, which is french for yellow jersey, wrong and it sounded like mellow john, and when Lance started winning the nicknamed him Mellow Johnny.
Photo 2: Juan Pelota Cafe, cafe at Mellow Johnny's. It's name, if you can't figure it out loosely translates to One Ball Cafe. Hahah.

After having pancakes in the rv cafe, we headed back into the city of Austin to visit REI. Mike wanted to pick up a new sleeping bag and pad. We spent like 2 hours there. I wanted to go check out Mellow Johnny's, so we made our way a couple blocks over and proceeded to spend like 2 hours there as well. When we walked in, one of the employees started talking to me cause he saw my loaded bike. He then proceeded to show us around the shop and tell us about all these different bikes that were on display and was just totally cool. We didn't really start riding til about 2, and we still had like 35 miles to do. most of the riding was kind of dull, hills and the same repeating scenery. When we had like 7 miles left, we come up this little hill to see these amazing views. The sun was setting slightly and all you could see were mountains. And then we went down at over 35 mph. We had about 3 nice downhills like this taking us into Wimberley. We stayed in the backyard of the Wimberley EMS. They were such a great group of people, very welcoming. Definitely stop by them if your riding through Wimberley.
