Rogue Brewery!

Cut the day short, 38 miles. It was beautiful out, but we came across the Rogue Brewery and decided to stop in. We had some burgers and beers, then caught the tour. It was Awesome! Now we are hanging out at South Beach State Park in Newport, OR.

Rest Day

Cape Meares State Park

More Oregon!

The Oregon coast is amazing! In the mornings its been foggy, which is normal here. It makes for some crazy looking shots of the ocean and shore. By the afternoon, it has been clearing up, and the sun has been coming out. We've been averaging about 50 miles a day, and have surpassed 500 miles total already in 10 days of riding. Today we are taking a rest day at Chris's cousins house.

Oregon!

This morning we crossed into Oregon! By ferry. It was pretty foggy all morning, but cleared up in the afternoon. We rode through some beach towns along the Oregon coast. Tonight we are camping in Cannon Beach.
Yesterday we had sun all day! Lots of hills, nothing too crazy though. Washington is a beautiful state, but all the campgrounds charged for showers. Chris said she saw that when she rode cross country last year, but I never saw it riding the Southern Tier. Hopefully Oregon doesn't charge! (Tonight's was free)

Holy Toledo!

Yesterday was another drizzly day. We woke up to rain in Elma, WA, and packed up our tents the second it stopped for a minute. We rode to Centralia, WA, only 36 miles, and called it a day. It dried up a bit, and I was able to put on new, much needed brake pads that I've been carrying all week.
This morning we slept in a little. Grabbed a coffee from McDonald's and rode on down the road. We were planning on camping in the Toledo Community Park for free, but it would have only been about 25 miles, so we pushed on to Castle Rock. We stumbled upon Toutle River RV Resort, which wasn't the camping that was listed on our maps, but we checked it out anyways. Turns out the place on our map is across the street somewhere, but as we were talking to the gate attendant, the owner pulled up. He asked if we were on warmshowers, which I am, and says we can camp for free. Sweet! They are also playing Meet the Robinsons tonight, so we are going to check that out too.

Move To Bremerton

(All pictures from Friday)

Yesterday, we got to ride in the sun! It was a beautiful day. We did 66 miles and stayed in Bremerton, WA, home of MxPx. We had about a half hour ferry ride across to Port Townsend in the morning. We stopped at a Friday market and got some Oregon all beef franks which were delicious. The lady was closing up and ended up also giving us three that were left for free. They ended up being some cajun flavor andouille franks or something, still pretty good.
Today was very gloomy. Rode through lots of wooded areas, under gray skies, in an on and off drizzle/rain. No pics cause my phone was in a ziploc bag all day.
