Day 33: To Sam Houston National Forest (Stubblefield Campground)

50 miles (80 km) - Total so far: 1,380 miles (2,221 km)
So we got off to another later start today. Mike woke up to a migraine, so we hung out til he started feeling better. Got on the road by 10. Good riding in the beginning of the day. The last 25 or so miles were not the best though. The road turned into no shoulder, and it was like rocks with a bunch of tar thrown down over it. It was a pretty nice day weather-wise, a little overcast. We had planned on stopping at Cagle Recreation Area to camp, but when we got there, they were full. The ranger said it's the first week of spring break so they filled up quick. We ended up going another 10 miles down the road to get here, Stubblefield Campground. We rode through the towns of Evergreen and Pumpkin today. Cool town names. Anyway, tomorrow we have about 35 miles to Navasota, then we are heading south for 20 miles to Ryan's aunt's in Hempstead.
