Day 37: To Carmine, Tx

47 miles (76 km) - Total so far: 1,531 miles (2,464 km)

This morning I woke up to another flat tire. Nothing was in the tire, but the valve was pulling away from the tube. Put a new tube in and everything seems to be solid now. The day started very cloudy, but warm. After about 10 miles, the skies cleared up and the temperature rose. We rode on a pretty major road almost all day, 290. We stopped for awhile at a little picnic area on the side of 290, with a little stream. It was very relaxing. Then we rode the last 12 miles to our host, Carol's, house. We got here by 3ish and found our quarters for the night. She's got an old barn with a loft on top and a nice balcony with a great view. There are like 6 beds, a bathroom, and kitchen area. It's great. She's also making us a spaghetti dinner. We also met another cyclist who showed up a few minutes before us. Todd started in St. Augustine and is just heading west for awhile, then heading north. He's a cool guy.
