Day 4: To Welborn

37 miles (60 km) - Total so far: 185 miles (298 km)

We woke up this morning with all intentions of riding about 50 miles to the next campground. We wanted to get going early, with rain in the forecast for late today and tomorrow. This prompted Carol to decide to leave ahead of me, so I wouldn't have to keep waiting for her at turns all day.She wrote down the first few turns and headed out, probably 20 minutes prior to me. I head out and am feeling pretty good, beautiful weather, open roads.

About an hour into the day, still no sign of Carol. Now Carol can ride, but there's no way she's still gonna be out of view after only 20 minute head start and 12 miles down. I reach a campground/convenience store and grab a few snacks and wait. After about 20 minutes, she finally calls. Missed a turn and went 2 miles outta the way. She finally reaches where I am and we start rolling down the road. After another 10 or so miles, she notices her tire goin flat. We stop and fill it, seems to be good. Another buncha miles go by and its gettin low again. She decides she wants to just swap out the tube, so we pull off into this little church parking lot and start working on it. Just as were seating the tire, a man pulls up. We start talkin. Turns out Jack has a pop-up trailer bout 1/2 mile down the road, vs. the campground that's still 10+ miles away.
We chose trailer. We went back to his house and met his wife, Cathy and dog, Bo, and Buster, our alarm clock.

We got to shower, do laundry, even got some dinner, chicken sandwiches, mac n cheese, and soup, with jello n cookies for dessert.
Good times.

We may try for Suwannee River State Park tomorrow if the rain holds out a little, or we may be here in this trailer again.

Life with no restrictions is pretty swell.
